Entrupy certificate: what it is, how it works, and when you really need it
When you buy a pre-owned luxury bag, its authenticity depends on who sells it to you. The Entrupy certificate moves that judgment outside the store: it is issued by a third-party entity, independent from us.
What happens in practice
The service is added to the cart along with the item to be certified. Before shipping, the bag is analyzed, and it arrives with the certificate already accompanying it.
The order is as follows, and it is not reversible: certification must be requested before the item is shipped. Once the bag has left the store, it is no longer possible to issue it for that purchase.
Which brands is it available for
Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Chanel, Dior, Fendi, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Burberry, Balenciaga, Valentino, and Givenchy.

When is it worth requesting
The certificate doesn't change the bag; it changes what you can prove about the bag. It makes sense in three concrete situations.
If you are spending a significant amount. For an item worth several thousand euros, the verification cost is a minimal fraction of the purchase, and it provides you with a document.
If you plan to resell. An item that arrives to the next buyer already certified sells faster and leads to less negotiation on price.
If the item is a gift. The recipient has not spoken to us and has not seen the bag in the store: the certificate answers the question for you.
When you can do without it
For a key ring, a belt, or an accessory of limited value, the ratio between the cost of verification and the value of the item changes, and often it does not justify the expense. The same applies if you purchase in person at the Arcore store and can calmly inspect the bag.
Refunds
The certificate is generated upon specific request, so once issued, the service is considered fully performed, and the corresponding amount is non-refundable. This is provided for by Article 59, paragraph 1, letter a) of the Consumer Code.
However, the right of withdrawal on the item remains in full effect: if you return the bag within 14 days, you will be refunded normally, and only the cost of the verification is not returned.
What we do anyway, without a certificate
Every item is checked before being put on sale, photographed individually, and described in its actual condition. The Entrupy certificate is an additional layer you can add, not the basic check.
